This week we share our interview with Kirk Duncan, who is a life coach and mentor.  This was such a blessing for both the Julie's because Kirk has influenced our lives for many years in a big way.  He even helped inspire us to start this podcast.  Kirk talks about the big ways that doubt has stopped his progression through life, and how he overcame it (he still overcomes it when it pops up).  There are really simple steps in here that will help us all overcome the doubts we have that inevitably pop up.  We hope you all enjoy this as much as we did!

This is a topic that The Julies have had in mind since the early talks of starting this podcast.  We both know how important connection is for us to enjoy life and thrive.  Having healthy relationships, and sharing our wisdom on this matter is what drives us to carry on with this project.  This week, we discuss the signs of unhealthy dynamics in relationships, how to know when it's time to get help or get out, but even more importantly, what a healthy relationship should look like.  As we approach the holidays and gathering with family, we hope that some of these things we have talked about over the last few episodes can help everyone have a happy and safe time with loved ones.

Part 1 of 2: We hear the beginning of Nathan's story as he introduces himself, discusses the beginning of his romantic relationship, and some of the signs as the relationship became unhealthy.  He talks about how it took a toll on him emotionally, physically, and occupationally.  Having strong, healthy relationships is an important human need.  Sometimes it can be hard to recognize signs that things are not as they should be, and it can be very difficult when it comes time to end an unsafe relationship.

Hello!  This week’s episode is a little bit different.  Doing this podcast has been a journey for us that has taken a bit longer than expected.  But we’ve learned a lot on the way and we have documented some of it for you and for us to see how far we’ve come.  This episode was recorded back in October of 2022.  We also want to give a disclaimer that we do talk a bit about women’s health, so if that is something that makes you uncomfortable, we just want to let you know it’s in there.  Don’t worry, it’s not too graphic :)  We mostly talk about what we’ve been up to and what we’ve learned.  We hope you enjoy!

This week we share our interview with Alice. She is a remarkable woman who's journey include some big challenges, some of which very few people ever have to endure. Alice shares her experiences raising a child with severe mental health issues during a time when these things were not well understood.  She had little support or information about what was going on with her daughter in her childhood. It wasn't until after her daughter was an adult that she was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder and Autism.  Alice shares what it was like and gives helpful advice for all parents.  We hope you find her strength and patience as inspiring as we do!
